Baseball Recap: Calhoun City Has No Trouble Against Noxubee County

Calhoun City had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Noxubee County on Thursday. Calhoun City was the clear victor by a 16-1 margin over Noxubee County. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 20-0 on March 1st.

Zawon Edwards made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two). He was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-2. He is becoming a predictor of Calhoun City's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-9 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jayden Brand, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jay Moore, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one double.
