Basketball Game Preview: Ballantyne Ridge Wolves vs. Myers Park Mustangs

The Ballantyne Ridge Wolves will venture away from home to square off against the Myers Park Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ballantyne Ridge has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 11.

Ballantyne Ridge is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against South Mecklenburg on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Ballantyne Ridge took a blow against South Mecklenburg, falling 74-18. The Wolves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-14.

Meanwhile, Myers Park unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 46-36 to South Mecklenburg. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Sabres are ranked 38th).

Myers Park's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 7-11. As for Ballantyne Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.

Ballantyne Ridge was taken down by Myers Park 53-15 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Ballantyne Ridge was down 32-7.
