Baseball Recap: Windsor Extends Winning Streak to Four

Windsor got themselves on the board against Ukiah on Wednesday, but Ukiah never followed suit. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Wildcats. While the Jaguars didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-11-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Windsor got a great performance from AJ Rakowski as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Rakowski has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Roman Torres, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. He also brought in two RBI, marking his first of the season. Jaydon Metzger was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

The win was the fourth in a row for Windsor, bringing their record up to 6-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ukiah, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-4.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Windsor Jaguars challenge Cardinal Newman Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Cardinal Newman's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Windsor's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Ukiah, they will face off against Rancho Cotate at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
