Softball Preview: Rockridge Rockets vs. Monmouth-Roseville Titans
After four games on the road, Rockridge is heading back home. They will take on the Monmouth-Roseville Titans at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Rockridge will be strutting in after a victory while Monmouth-Roseville will be coming in after a loss.
Rockridge can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent game on Saturday. They never let St. Bede onto the board and left with a 9-0 win.
Taylor Dieterich was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Dieterich was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Kendra Lewis was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Morgan Hofer, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Monmouth-Roseville's offense. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 17-0 walloping at the hands of Morrison on Monday. Monmouth-Roseville's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Rockridge pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Monmouth-Roseville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
