Basketball Recap: Morgan Park Takes a Loss

Morgan Park played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 69-23 loss at the hands of the Perspectives Leadership/Technology Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while the Warriors are ranked 126th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Perspectives Leadership/Technology to victory, but perhaps none more so than Catrina Sanders, who posted 15 points and six steals. Those six steals gave Sanders a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jada Morgan, who put up 11 points and seven steals.

Morgan Park has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Perspectives Leadership/Technology, they pushed their record up to 14-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Morgan Park has already played their next contest (against Hammond Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Perspectives Leadership/Technology will face off against Taft at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Taft will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Perspectives Leadership/Technology surely won't give up without a fight.
