Volleyball Recap: Southeast's Undefeated Season over After 11 Games + How To Watch

Southeast lost against DeSoto County back in September of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Seminoles fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. The loss was the Seminoles' first of the season.

Loss or not, Southeast got some senior leadership from Layla Holmbeck and Jaeda Dean. Holmbeck had 16 assists and five digs, while Dean had five kills, three digs, two aces, and one block. Dean has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last ten times she's played.

DeSoto County found their leader in sophomore Chloe Clemons, who had eight digs and two aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, Southeast fell to 10-1. As for DeSoto County, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Southeast has already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Lake Placid on the 20th. As for DeSoto County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Palmetto on the 20th.
