Basketball Recap: Surry Central Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Surry Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 60-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Wilkes Vikings. The Golden Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

When it comes to explaining why Surry Central lost, don't look at Damen Hazelwood. Despite the final result, he posted 19 points and eight rebounds. Hazelwood has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times he's played. Jax Whitaker was another key player, putting up ten points.

Surry Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for North Wilkes, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Surry Central will head out to square off against Community School of Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Wilkes, they will host Davie County at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings will need to watch out since the War Eagles have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
