Softball Game Preview: Punxsutawney Chucks vs. Tyrone Golden Eagles

The Punxsutawney Chucks will head out on the road to take on the Tyrone Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Punxsutawney will be strutting in after a victory while Tyrone will be coming in after a defeat.

Punxsutawney will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating DuBois, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Chucks put the hurt on the Beavers with a sharp 13-6 win on Wednesday. Considering the Chucks have won three contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Tyrone was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Huntingdon.

The victory made it two in a row for Punxsutawney and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Tyrone, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
