Basketball Recap: Laredo LBJ Comes Up Short

Laredo LBJ was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 59-46 to the Edinburg North Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolves of the 62-51 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Edinburg North found their leader in sophomore Raul Palacios, who went 11 for 16 on his way to 28 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Palacios has scored all season. Josiah Cruz was another key player, putting up eight points.

Laredo LBJ's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Edinburg North, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Boerne-Champion the next time they take the court. Laredo LBJ will head out to face Boerne-Champion at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Edinburg North will play them later in the day, at 12:30 p.m.
