Basketball Recap: Brayden Pedersen's Big Game Can't Quite Lead First Christian over Cedar Key

First Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 50-42 to the Cedar Key Sharks. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-29 last Friday.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brayden Pedersen, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Pedersen a new career-high in rebounds. Mathias Ellis was another key player, putting up six points and eight boards.

First Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Cedar Key, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-11.

First Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-47 defeat against Corinth Christian Academy on the 28th. Cedar Key has also already played their next contest, a 50-43 loss against Cornerstone Academy on the 30th.
