Cedar Ridge is on a four-game streak of home losses, Western Alamance a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves will take on the Western Alamance Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Tuesday, Cedar Ridge suffered a tough 72-50 loss at the hands of Eastern Alamance. Cedar Ridge has struggled against Eastern Alamance recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Western Alamance fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Williams on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 52-51 to the Bulldogs.
Cedar Ridge has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-19 record this season. As for Western Alamance, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.
Cedar Ridge couldn't quite finish off Western Alamance in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 and fell 37-34. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Western Alamance's James Newton, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
