Basketball Recap: Oakbrook Prep Knights vs. First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest Crusaders

Even though the Oakbrook Prep Knights have not done well against the First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest Crusaders recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Oakbrook Prep took down the Crusaders 56-40. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Oakbrook Prep.

Oakbrook Prep was led to victory by Nzuhri Biggar and Chris Wilkins. Biggar scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Wilkins dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Brad Caldwell was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tucker Shealy. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points and 2 assists. Shealy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Flynn, who scored 14 points.

First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Oakbrook Prep pulled down 17 offensive rebounds.

Oakbrook Prep's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-15.

Oakbrook Prep will head out on the road to challenge the Griffins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Spartanburg Day is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. As for First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Oakbrook Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday.
