Softball Game Preview: Waltonville Spartans vs. Cisne Runnin' Lions

Waltonville is a perfect 3-0 against Cisne since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Spartans will host the Runnin' Lions at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Waltonville has five straight victories, Cisne has 20 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Waltonville's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Woodlawn by a score of 4-0.

Cisne played against Mt. Carmel two weeks ago and lost via forfeit.

Waltonville's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cisne, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Everything went Waltonville's way against Cisne in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Waltonville made off with a 12-0 win. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Runnin' Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
