            Baseball Recap: Avalon Black Knights vs. Jackson-Reed Tigers        
        
		
        
        
            Thursday just wasn't the day for Avalon's offense. They came up short against  the Jackson-Reed Tigers on Thursday, falling  14-0. Having soared to a lofty 11  runs in the game before, the Black Knights' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

 Avalon saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Ethan Stepanik, who  went 1-for-2 with one  stolen base. Stepanik has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last four times he's  played.
Avalon has  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record  this season. As for Jackson-Reed,  the  win made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 14-4.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Avalon will welcome Georgetown Day  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. As for Jackson-Reed, they will be playing at home against Washington Latin Public Charter School  at 9:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The Lions will roll in looking for their  fifth straight  victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
