Basketball Game Preview: Las Animas Trojans vs. Syracuse Bulldogs

The Las Animas Trojans will take on the Syracuse Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Las Animas knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Syracuse likes a good challenge.

Las Animas' tournament run continued when they took on Elkhart on Tuesday. Las Animas fell 68-55 to Elkhart. The loss was the Trojans' first of the season.

Despite the loss, Las Animas had strong showings from Kree Wallace, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds, and Aaron Vargas, who posted 17 points. Vargas' afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Servaes, who put up six points.

Meanwhile, Syracuse earned a 40-31 victory over Cheyenne Wells on Tuesday.

The win got Syracuse back to even at 1-1. As for Las Animas, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
