Volleyball Recap: Northridge Grizzlies vs. Skyline Falcons
Northridge lost against Skyline back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Grizzlies came up short against the Falcons, falling 3-0.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-18, 25-15.
Northridge's offense was headlined by Elsa Van Buskirk and Sophia Carbajal, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Dalanie Jones and her 19 assists. Van Buskirk was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Skyline was led to victory by Audrey Prado-King and Marisol Sanchez. Prado-King had five digs and four aces, while Sanchez had 12 digs and three aces. Sanchez has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last five times she's played.
Northridge's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Skyline, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northridge will welcome Roosevelt at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Grizzlies' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Skyline, they will be playing at home against Greeley West at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
