Bishop Manogue came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They pulled ahead with a 39-38 photo finish over the Galena Grizzlies. The 39-point effort marked the Miners' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Bishop Manogue's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jamahl Jackson led the charge by putting up nine points in addition to six boards and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Sorensen, who posted 14 points.

Bishop Manogue was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Galena only posted six assists.

When it comes to explaining why Galena lost, don't look at Gavin Talonen. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 8 on his way to 12 points and eight rebounds. Talonen continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Nathan Bronander was another key player, scoring seven points and five boards.

Bishop Manogue has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Galena, they dropped their record down to 7-11 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Manogue will venture away from home to square off against Damonte Ranch at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Bishop Manogue is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.1 points per game this season. As for Galena, they are taking a road trip to challenge McQueen at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Galena has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.
