Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Hightstown

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Hightstown ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Pennington Red Hawks. Winning may never get old, but the Rams sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Hightstown got a great performance from Lucas Nunez as he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave Nunez a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Devon Decker, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Dylan Stables, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Hightstown's record is now 13-7-2. As for Pennington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hightstown will take on South Brunswick at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pennington, they will square off against Oratory Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
