Basketball Recap: Fayetteville-Manlius' Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

Fayetteville-Manlius lost to East Syracuse-Minoa back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Fayetteville-Manlius Hornets secured a 54-48 W over the East Syracuse-Minoa Spartans. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Spartans are ranked 302nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fayetteville-Manlius' win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for East Syracuse-Minoa, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

When Fayetteville-Manlius and East Syracuse-Minoa next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Fayetteville-Manlius will try to stop Liverpool's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, East Syracuse-Minoa will face off against Fulton and their six-game winning streak at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
