Softball Recap: North Haven Takes a Loss

If North Haven was feeling good fresh off their 15-0 takedown of West Haven on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Nighthawks lost 9-1 to the Foran Lions on Monday. The Nighthawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Emelia Brandi made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Alyssa Ferriouolo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple.

North Haven's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Foran, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, North Haven will square off against Cheshire at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Nighthawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Foran, they will face off against East Haven at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
