Meanwhile, the third road match was the charm for St. Joseph, as they earned their first road win of the season. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Frontier 8-6. The Knights' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Mason Majewski tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Connor Chanley, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Ashton Bluem also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Lompoc pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7.4 runs. As for St. Joseph, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-2.
