Basketball Recap: Warren Skates Past Paramount with Ease

Warren got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They breezed by the Paramount Pirates to the tune of 79-42 on Friday. With the Bears ahead 46-21 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Warren was led to victory by King Johnson and Jay'Mari Redmond. Johnson almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine boards, while Redmond went 10 of 14 on his way to 21 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jorge Mota, who posted six points along with 11 rebounds and five assists.

Warren smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Warren's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 9-9. As for Paramount, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warren will head out to take on Norwalk at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Warren is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.3 points per game this season. As for Paramount, they will venture away from home to square off against Downey at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Downey will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Paramount surely won't give up without a fight.
