Volleyball Recap: Center Grove Falls Short Against Ranked Franklin Community

Center Grove faced Franklin Community in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Trojans fell just short of the Grizzly Cubs by a score of 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Grizzly Cubs: they've now lost five in a row.

Alex Vassar paced Center Grove's offense, picking up 13 kills. Vassar got some help from Silas Zathang and his 19 assists.

Center Grove's loss dropped their record down to 18-7-1. As for Franklin Community, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Center Grove is set to take on their familiar foe Homestead at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Franklin Community will face off against rival Fishers at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
