Football Game Preview: Yazoo City Indians vs. Greenwood Bulldogs + Official Tickets

Yazoo City is 1-8 against Greenwood since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Indians will take on the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Neither Yazoo City nor Greenwood posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

Yazoo City is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Louisville on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Indians were beaten by the Wildcats 42-8. The Indians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.

Meanwhile, Greenwood fell victim to Holmes County Central and their airtight defense on Friday. They were dealt a 42-0 defeat at the hands of the Jaguars. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Jaguars are ranked 26th).

Yazoo City's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Greenwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Yazoo City came up short against Greenwood when the teams last played back in September of 2024, falling 22-14. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
