Volleyball Recap: Ash Grove Takes a Loss

Ash Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Clever Blue Jays. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Ash Grove started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-18, 25-14, 25-7.

Anna Staiger was the offensive standout of the match as she had 13 digs and two aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last five matchups.

Ash Grove's loss dropped their record down to 6-8-1. As for Clever, they pushed their record up to 10-8-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Ash Grove has already played their next contest (against Marionville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Clever, they will challenge Fair Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
