Basketball Recap: Branham Takes a Loss

Branham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost 71-48 to the Christopher Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 76-45 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Branham lost, don't look at Daniel Wells. Despite the final result, he went 5 for 10 on his way to 14 points. Wells is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last seven games he's played. Carlo Marinucci was another key player, putting up ten points.

Branham's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Christopher, they pushed their record up to 18-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Branham will head out to challenge Pioneer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Branham is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.1 points per game this season. As for Christopher, they are taking a road trip to face off against Santa Teresa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Santa Teresa knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Christopher likes a good challenge.
