Haddam-Killingworth had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 14-run drubbing they dealt East Hampton on Thursday. Haddam-Killingworth let Grace LaConte and Grace Natanzon run wild. LaConte went 3-for-4 with three runs and four RBI, while Natanzon got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three hits gave LaConte a new career-high. Olivia LaTorre was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI.
Haddam-Killingworth always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Hampton only posted an OBP of .200.
The victory (which was Haddam-Killingworth's third in a row) raised their record to 9-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for East Hampton, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-9.
