Softball Recap: Boone Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Boone barely beat Winter Park the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Braves put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 9-2 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Emma Wolfgramm was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Karlee Detcher, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Boone hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 6-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Boone has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Winter Park, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boone will take on Horizon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Winter Park, they will face off against Innovation at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
