Softball Recap: Knox Has No Trouble Against Argos

Knox won the last time they faced Argos and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Redskins put the hurt on the Dragons with a sharp 11-3 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Redskins.

Cheryl Barnes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Addison Sponaugle was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Sarah Fort was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI.

Knox was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Knox now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Argos, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-5.

Coming up, Knox will face off against Jimtown at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Argos, they will take on South Bend Riley at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
