Basketball Recap: Latee Moore's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Palmdale over Carpinteria

Palmdale's tournament run continued when they took on Carpinteria on Saturday. The Palmdale Falcons came up short against the Carpinteria Warriors, falling 80-56.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Latee Moore, who went 8 for 18 on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Moore a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Thornton, who posted 14 points and three steals.

Palmdale has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Carpinteria, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Palmdale didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 77-45 win against Palmdale Academy Charter School on the 16th. As for Carpinteria, they will be taking part in a tournament against Polytechnic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Carpinteria's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games.
