Softball Recap: Starmount Extends Winning Streak to Four

Starmount got themselves on the board against Elkin on Tuesday, but Elkin never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Buckin' Elks with a sharp 11-0 victory. Considering the Rams have won six games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The win (which was Starmount's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Elkin, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-10.

Coincidentally, Starmount and Elkin will both be playing Mount Airy the next time they take the field. The Buckin' Elks will host the Granite Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Rams will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
