Volleyball Recap: Southington Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Simsbury

Southington faced Simsbury in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Blue Knights came up short against the Trojans, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Blue Knights have suffered since September 22nd.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Simsbury scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-19, 25-20.

Lily Eidukaityte paced Southington's offense, picking up ten kills. Eidukaityte got some help from Emme Steindl and her 29 assists. Sehere Coma and Lauren Warych kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Southington's loss ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 16-11-3. As for Simsbury, the win (which was their 18th in a row) raised their record to 19-1.

As of now, neither Southington nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
