Softball Preview: East Central Trojans vs. South Dearborn Knights

East Central is 9-1 against South Dearborn since April of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The East Central Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the South Dearborn Knights at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

East Central's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Rushville with a sharp 8-0 win.

Montana Plymale was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Plymale has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in eight consecutive pitching appearances. Plymale was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and a double.

In other batting news, Anna Black was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Kylie Ferreira, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

Meanwhile, South Dearborn had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They blew past the Bulldogs 9-3.

East Central's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for South Dearborn, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
