Softball Recap: Federal Way Takes a Loss

Federal Way had lost four straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 2-6 to make it five. They lost 22-1 to the Auburn Mountainview Lions. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Federal Way saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eva Adriano, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

As for Auburn Mountainview, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-2. Considering they have won seven games by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

On Auburn Mountainview's side, they got a massive performance out of Melanie Duran, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. Those seven RBI gave Duran a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Heigh, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs and three RBI.

Federal Way has already played their next match, a 15-4 loss against Decatur on the 15th. As for Auburn Mountainview, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-1 defeat against Enumclaw on the 15th.
