Basketball Recap: Heritage Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Lantae Cassel and Taurean Brown

Heritage suffered their biggest loss since January 13, 2024 on Wednesday. They lost 72-46 to the Fort Wayne Snider Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 54-43 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Taurean Brown and Lantae Cassel certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Brown went 6 of 13 on his way to 18 points, while Cassel went 6 for 13 en route to 16 points along with six boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave Brown a new career-high in points. Corban Roth also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Fort Wayne Snider was led to victory by Xavier Wilson and Ketron Paschall. Wilson made all 8 shots he took racking up 20 points, while Paschall dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Qualyn Clopton, who posted nine points and five boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Heritage and nudges their season record down to 7-5. As for Fort Wayne Snider, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Heritage has already played their next matchup, a 61-56 loss against Woodlan on the 24th. As for Fort Wayne Snider, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 52-46 defeat against Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran on the 24th.
