Soccer Game Preview: Wakefield vs. South County

The Wakefield Warriors will head out to challenge the South County Stallions at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Wakefield's offense. They fell 2-0 to Meridian on Wednesday. Wakefield have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, South County kept a clean sheet against Alexandria City on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Titans 1-0.

Wakefield now has a losing record of 3-4. As for South County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Wakefield suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to South County when the teams last played back in March of 2017. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
