Basketball Game Preview: Tipton Cardinals vs. Blair Oaks Falcons

The Tipton Cardinals will face off against the Blair Oaks Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Tipton challenged Princeton on Friday. Tipton opened the new year with a less-than-successful 43-36 loss to Princeton. The game marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ben Bestgen, who posted 12 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Cashman, who earned six points along with six boards and five steals.

Even though they lost, Tipton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Blair Oaks blew past Fatima, posting a 66-39 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Blair Oaks is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Tipton, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
