Basketball Recap: St. Andrew's Episcopal Takes a Loss

St. Andrew's Episcopal has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Riverdale Baptist Crusaders. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Riverdale Baptist's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cannon Greene, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. That's the most boards Greene has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Ean McLaughlin, who shot 54% from the field to rack up 18 points.

St. Andrew's Episcopal's defeat dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Riverdale Baptist, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-10 record this season.

St. Andrew's Episcopal does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Riverdale Baptist, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 61-49 loss against Mt. Zion Prep Academy on the 3rd.
