Recap: Wade Hampton Generals vs. Mauldin Mavericks
The Wade Hampton Generals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 92-56 defeat at the hands of Mauldin. Wade Hampton has not had much luck with Mauldin recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Mauldin was led to victory by Nathan Wilbourne and Alverez Smith. Wilbourne scored 11 points along with 6 assists, while Smith scored 11 points. Smith is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now stole two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Sullivan, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds.
Wade Hampton bumped their record down to 2-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Mauldin, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Wade Hampton will look to defend their home court on Friday against Powdersville at 8:00 p.m. Powdersville will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Mauldin, they will head out on the road to face off against Riverside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Riverside knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Mauldin likes a good challenge.
