The Kempsville Chiefs will head out to square off against the First Colonial Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kempsville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 31.2 points per game this season.

On Friday, Kempsville strolled past Ocean Lakes with points to spare, taking the game 31-12. Given the Chiefs' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Dolphins are ranked 224th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kempsville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Camir Croom, who picked up 87 receiving yards and two TDs. Another signal caller making a difference was Taejon Cason, who threw for 110 yards and three touchdowns on only nine passes.

Kempsville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Warren Powell Jr, Michael Pembleton, and Nasiar Dargan picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Ocean Lakes' side was Elijah McDaniel, who picked up two sacks, made ten total tackles (5.0 for loss), and defended one pass.

Meanwhile, First Colonial was beaten by Bayside 57-3 on Saturday.

The victory made it two in a row for Kempsville and bumps their season record up to 4-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 24 points in those games. As for First Colonial, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Everything came up roses for Kempsville against First Colonial in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 49-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chiefs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
