            Baseball Recap: St. Augustine Purple Knights vs. Archbishop Shaw Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            There's no place like home for St. Augustine, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  last Friday. They skirted past the Archbishop Shaw Eagles  7-6. The  victory was a breath of fresh air for the Purple Knights as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

St. Augustine got a great performance from  Xander Brady as he  tossed five innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   three  hits. The dominant performance also gave  Brady a new career-high in  strikeouts (four).
 On the hitting side,  Aiden Castillo was  excellent,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double. Those  three  hits gave  him a new career-high.  Derek Mercadal was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
St. Augustine's record now sits at 13-9. As for Archbishop Shaw,  with the  loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-11.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Augustine will host Central Catholic  at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Archbishop Shaw, they will be playing at home against Holy Cross  at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday.
