Baseball Recap: Wes-Del Comes Up Short

Wes-Del was the 5-1 winner over Blackford when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors came up short against the Bruins on Saturday, falling 14-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Warriors have suffered against the Bruins since April 19, 2019.

Wes-Del saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grayson Mealy, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Eli Sherfy also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Wes-Del has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Blackford, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Wes-Del has already played their next match, a 20-17 win against Elwood on the 28th. As for Blackford, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-2 defeat against Eastbrook on the 29th.
