League recap: First Coast's Lawrence delivers best pitching performance from past week

7A District 2 league recap: 4/3/13

First Coast's Justin Lawrence was the best pitcher in 7A District 2 this week. He struck out ten batters this week.

This could be a critical week for Fletcher, which holds a 0.5-game lead over Fleming Island for the league's top spot in the standings.

The Buccaneers boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

The league boasted seven .400 hitters over the past week. Leading the pack was Jason Nebrat, who hit .667 by going 2-for-3.

First Coast's Lawrence threw seven shutout innings in an 8-0 win over Baldwin on Tuesday. He pitched seven scoreless innings and struck out ten, while giving up three hits.



Lawrence struck out ten in Parker's 4-2 win over the Buccaneers on April 1. Over seven innings of work, he gave up three hits and two runs.
