Basketball Game Preview: Cheraw Wolverines vs. Flatirons Academy Bison

The Cheraw Wolverines will head out on the road to challenge the Flatirons Academy Bison at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cheraw took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They breezed past Walsh to the tune of 50-23. The Wolverines pushed the score to 44-16 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

Kieran Harris had a dynamite game for Cheraw, dropping a double-double with 20 points and ten boards. Adi Miell was another key player, going 5-for-12 en route to 14 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals.

Cheraw was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, Flatirons Academy beat Dayspring Christian Academy 37-26 on Saturday. The Bison haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Cheraw has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points on average over those games. Flatirons Academy's victory bumped their record up to 18-5.
