Softball Game Preview: Johnson City Wildcats vs. Union-Endicott Tigers

The Johnson City Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Union-Endicott Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Johnson City is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

On Friday, Johnson City came up short against Chenango Valley and fell 5-2.

Annabel Burke spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

Meanwhile, Union-Endicott came up short against Horseheads on Monday, falling 12-1. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dominika Diaz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Morgan Ashman also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Johnson City's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Union-Endicott, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Johnson City couldn't quite get it done against Union-Endicott when the teams last played two weeks ago as they fell 5-2. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
