Basketball Game Preview: Brookland-Cayce Bearcats vs. Bethune-Bowman Mohawks

The Brookland-Cayce Bearcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Bethune-Bowman Mohawks at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Brookland-Cayce is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Chester on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Brookland-Cayce was outmatched by Chester and fell 54-25. The match marked the Bearcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Brookland-Cayce's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Maci Cobb, who posted seven points and seven rebounds, and Dalacia Rouse, who had eight points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Rouse is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of KeAirah Taylor, who posted no points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bethune-Bowman, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against Andrew Jackson Academy by a score of 41-31 on Saturday.

The victory got Bethune-Bowman back to even at 1-1. As for Brookland-Cayce, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
