Baseball Recap: Brashear Bulls vs. Obama Academy of International Studies Eagles
After flying high against Aliquippa on Friday, Brashear came back down to earth. The Bulls fell just short of the Obama Academy of International Studies Eagles by a score of 8-7 on Monday. The Bulls haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Kaden Jones put in work while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off only two hits. Jones was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Brashear got a big performance out of Ryan White, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Chris Tomassi, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Brashear's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Obama Academy of International Studies, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Looking ahead, Brashear will welcome Beaver Falls at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Obama Academy of International Studies, they are taking a road trip to square off against Kiski School at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.83 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
