Volleyball Recap: Maranatha Victorious

Maranatha lost to San Marino back in August of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Minutemen walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Titans. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Minutemen.

Maranatha easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-13.

Despite the loss, San Marino saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ariminty Yu had 14 digs and three aces. Yu is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 39 games she's played dating back to last season.

Maranatha now has a winning record of 2-1. As for San Marino, they moved to 7-4-1 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Maranatha didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary on the 23rd. As for San Marino, they will be playing at home against Village Christian at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
