Volleyball Recap: Maloney Extends Winning Streak to Three

Maloney waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Newington Nor'easters by a score of 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on September 4th.

Maloney had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-15, 25-18, 25-15.

Greta Koscuk paced Maloney's offense, picking up 19 kills. Koscuk got some help from Tessa Holmes and her 40 assists. Maryam Machmech controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Maloney's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Newington, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-9.

Coming up, Maloney will welcome Rocky Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Newington, they will venture away from home to challenge Portland at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
