Preview: Straughn Tigers vs. W.S. Neal Eagles
Straughn is 3-0 against W.S. Neal since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Straughn Tigers will head out on the road to take on the W.S. Neal Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Straughn is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
Straughn put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Georgiana 53-31. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Straughn has posted since December 8, 2023.
Straughn got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Allyx Williamson out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ora Hall, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, W.S. Neal was able to grind out a solid victory over Northview on Thursday, taking the game 33-22. The win was just what W.S. Neal needed coming off of a 51-27 defeat in their prior match.
Straughn's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.33 points. As for W.S. Neal, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.
Everything came up roses for Straughn against W.S. Neal when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 43-13 victory. Does Straughn have another victory up their sleeve, or will W.S. Neal turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
